Blu-Ray Media – BD-R Media

The Blu-ray disc can hold up to 25GB of data on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc. On a 50GB disc, this translates into 9 hours of high-definition (HD) video or approximately 23 hours of standard-definition (SD) video. Currently there are four types of Blu-ray media: BD-R 25GB - single layer, write once. BD-R DL 50GB - double/dual layer, write once. BD-RE 25GB - single layer, rewritable. BD-RE DL 50GB - double/dual layer, rewritable.
